London House Reimagined

House Extension, Renovation & Loft Conversion | South West London

London House Reimagined transforms a traditional South West London property into a light-filled contemporary family home. The project brings together a rear extension, loft conversion and wider renovation, carefully balancing the character of the existing house with a distinctly contemporary approach.

At the heart of the design is a desire to improve the relationship between the house, natural light and garden. Generous new openings at ground-floor level connect the principal living spaces directly with the terrace and garden, allowing daylight to penetrate deeper into the home and creating a greater sense of openness throughout.

Connecting Home and Garden

The rear of the property has been reworked to create a more fluid connection between inside and outside. Large glazed doors open the living spaces towards the garden, while carefully positioned windows frame views of the surrounding greenery.

Rather than simply increasing floor area, the extension is designed to improve how the existing home works — creating better circulation, stronger visual connections and spaces that respond more naturally to everyday family life.

A Contemporary Loft Conversion

At roof level, the loft conversion provides valuable additional accommodation while introducing a new architectural layer to the house.

Dark metal cladding gives the new roof-level intervention a clearly contemporary identity and provides a considered contrast with the existing masonry below. Generous windows bring daylight into the upper floor and provide views towards the garden.

The distinction between old and new is deliberate: the contemporary additions complement the original building without attempting to imitate it.

Designed Around Natural Light

Daylight plays an important role throughout the transformation. Larger openings, improved connections between rooms and carefully considered glazing help bring light deeper into the plan while creating a stronger relationship between different areas of the home.

By combining house extension, renovation and loft conversion as part of a single design approach, London House Reimagined demonstrates how an existing London property can be sensitively adapted for contemporary living.

The result is a home that feels more spacious, connected and filled with natural light, while retaining the character of the original house.
