This contemporary new-build house is designed as a quiet, light-filled home shaped by clarity of form, material warmth and everyday comfort. The architecture responds to its residential context through simple pitched volumes, a restrained brick palette and carefully framed openings that bring daylight deep into the interiors.
Rather than relying on gesture, the design focuses on proportion and precision. The composition of twin gabled forms creates a familiar silhouette while allowing generous internal volumes and a clear spatial hierarchy. Large areas of glazing connect living spaces to the garden, softening the boundary between inside and out and supporting a calm, contemporary way of living.
Internally, the layout is organised around flow and usability. Living spaces are open yet well defined, with visual connections across levels and carefully positioned openings to control light, views and privacy. Materials are intentionally understated, allowing natural light to become the primary architectural feature throughout the day.
Sustainability is embedded from the outset, with a fabric-first approach, efficient glazing and a compact built form that supports long-term energy performance and durability. The result is a home that feels generous yet grounded — designed to age well, adapt to family life and remain calm over time.
This project reflects Studio AVC’s approach to residential design: thoughtful, contextual and focused on how spaces are experienced, not just how they appear.
